Nimi Bala

Nimi Bala, Editor-in-Chief

Hi! I’m Nimi, I’m a senior and this is my third year in Lamplighter. This year, I am one of four Editors in Chief for the program. I spent my first year as a staff reporter and my second year as the sports editor. Some of my favorite pieces I have written are about sexist slang, politics, and social justice. I hope to continue to write articles about current events as well as working with the other three amazing Editors in Chief to create top-quality products.

Along with Lamplighter, I am also involved in the Student Council, GHS, Young Progressives, Senior Exec. Board, and KYA this year as well as being a part of Dunbar’s Concert Orchestra. Outside of school, I love to play soccer, watch movies, read, play the violin, and I love to travel. My favorite city that I have been to is Washington DC. I am a very energetic person and I love to talk to new people. I am so excited to be a part of Lamplighter and I cannot wait to see where this journey will go!
