Governor Beshear Declares October Domestic Violence Awareness Month

On October 18 Governor Andy Beshear declared October Domestic Violence Awareness Month for Kentucky.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence “On a typical day, [Kentucky] domestic violence hotlines receive approximately 19,159 calls, approximately 13 calls every minute.”

This issue is more common than many would like to admit. “[In Kentucky] 45.3% of women and 35.5% of men [have] experienced domestic violence,” according to World Population Review.
