Simple Costumes for Halloween
Fun and easy disguises for the end of Spooky Season
With Halloween quickly approaching, it can become stressful to decide last-minute plans. A change of plans can cause a change of costume, then panic ensues.
But, there is no need to worry! Here is a list of groups, couples, singles, and pet costume ideas that could work for any last-minute Halloween plans.
Group Costume
It is difficult to know exactly what to dress up as when you have a large group of friends. However, there is a simple and cheap option to include all your companions on Halloween.
Grey’s Anatomy doctors – Every die-hard Greys fan looks forward to Thursdays to watch their favorite TV medical drama. There are so many characters, it’s easy for a large group of friends to execute this costume. Here’s all you need:
1. Scrubs
2. Stethoscope
3. White Medical Coat (optional)
This costume requires no extra assembly.
Couples Costume
If you and your significant other are struggling to decide on whether or not to disguise yourselves this October, here is a unique, last-minute option.
Salt and Pepper – Everyone knows the two main seasonings we put on our food, and everyone has one they prefer over the other. This costume requires a little more assembly than the first but is still simple. Here’s all you need:
1. Grey and white shirts
2. Two pair of black bottoms
3. Black Cloth
4. Glue
5. Scissors
Cut out an “S” and “P” from the black cloth. Glue the “S” on the white shirt, and the “P” on the grey shirt. If you want an extra detail to your costume, wear salt and pepper shaker hats.
Singles Costume
If you have a party to attend but no one to go with, don’t worry, there are different ideas for singles costumes too. Not everyone likes to go bold on Halloween, for these people, it’s nicer to have a more subtle costume.
Holy Guacamole – This classic saying can be turned into a not-so-spooky Halloween disguise. Here’s what you’ll need:
1. Green shirt
2. Gold pipe cleaners
3. Headband
4. Dark green, light green, and brown cloth
5. Scissors
6. Glue
Cut out a large oval of dark green cloth, and a slightly smaller oval of light green cloth. Then cut out a circle of brown cloth.
Then glue the brown circle onto the light green oval, the light green oval onto the dark green oval, and then finally glue what has become an avocado onto your green shirt.
Take the gold pipe cleaners and shape them into a small circle. Glue an unshaped pipe cleaner to the “halo” and the other end to the headband.
Pet Costume
People love their pets, and they deserve a night filled with “Howl-o-ween” fun too. Here are some ideas for different pets and their owners.
1. Dog: Shaggy and Scooby from Scooby-Doo
2. Cat: Garfield the cat and Jon from The Garfield Comic
3. Fish: The Cat in the Hat and Carlos K. Krinklebine (the fish) from The Cat in the Hat
4. Parrot: A pirate and his parrot
