Dunbar Graduate Mario Paul Will Leave Behind a Strong Legacy
Mario Paul has etched his name in history after his tremendous high school career.
Mario Paul was recently named Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year, for the State of Kentucky.
Paul, who graduated from Dunbar this past year, will be going on to the University of Houston to continue his track career.
During his high school career at Dunbar, Paul set many records. Paul set a state record in the 300-meter hurdles at the Class AAA state meet.
He also had the No. 3 time nationally by a high school athlete in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.27 seconds.
Additionally, Paul won the 300 meter hurdles event and broke the state record in the process finishing the race in a blistering 36.74 seconds.
Paul also aided his team in winning events such the 4×400, 4×800, and the 4×100.
Paul also had his dad as his head coach during high school.
