What an outstanding Broadcast each week! This is exactly why WPLD has been named Award Winning, several times, over the last year!!! The student learners are doing an amazing job and I look forward to watching each week! Keep up the great work! Go TEAM WPLD!!

I can definitely see a passion and drive to get better each week, but there are a few things that have stuck out to me in several episodes this year. For starters the intros to the show have gotten much better than previous ones, but I would only show one intro rather than the old one and the TV reference one.
Next, the “Sports Boys” is too random. The boys need a written script rather than being told to hit certain topics each episode and ad-libbing what to say. In addition to a script they need to present a professional demeanor that coincides with the other reporters on the show. I understand this is a high school news show but for me that particular segment is hard to watch. It didn’t work last year and it is certainly not working this year, even with a “cute” sports boys intro.
I know it is early in the year but the transition from shots of the “host” to featured stories and segments should have a structured flow. Rather than cutting back and forth between the on screen reporters, they should be sending it off between one another giving the viewer more insight on whats to come.
Lastly I have seen a decline in the final segment(Geeksaquad?). Personally this should be the time for the students to add humor to the show, sadly it has been lacking lately. The carpool segments are fun but can only be done so many times before they become old news. The two boys who appear to be anchorage have no sense of direction to where they can take the segment besides relying in the fact that one of them is the principals son.The team should work on finding truly funny clips to produce rather than continuing to produce mediocre clips and adding pop ups throughout tin hopes of revising the dry material.
I hope you find these suggestions insightful and take them into account when producing future episodes. What you guys are making is head and shoulders above kids your age but in terms of professionalism and award winning quality you can certainly increase in several areas. I know it is hard producing segments each week and know that you are coming up on a shortened week, but do not let the staff stress show in the quality of each show! It’s better to have a shortened high quality show than a 10 minute show of last minute segments, poor anchor dialogue and thrown together clips.
