It’s Always Illuminating
Running a school newspaper and broadcast isn’t easy, but the staff of PLD Lamplighter makes it work. Every week, there are new stories and a new broadcast, but that also means new challenges.
One of the hardest things to do every week is come up with segment ideas for WPLD.
We have four maestro teams, each led by a “maestro mama.” Senior Mercedes Adams leads team Delta. These eight staff reporters look to her every week for direction and inspiration, and if you know Mercedes, you know that she’s continuously cheery and typically unflappable.
The week leading up to fall break was shortened, so we didn’t have a full show to produce, and therefore, the maestro teams didn’t have segment assignments.
Sometimes not having a deadline looming over your team is more challenging!
Rebecca is a senior, as well as an artist, feminist, and author. She can't wait for her first year on staff!
