My name is Lauren Crockett and I have always been interested in writing. Whether it was in journals, on scrap paper, or on the back of my hand it didn’t matter. I like to consider myself as creative and funny, but I also tend to see myself as a perfectionist. With that being said, I favor writing over public speaking because it allows me to meticulously prepare and create an expressive piece of work whereas if I was speaking I might have more trouble letting my words flow. Despite this, I am still very much an extrovert and like to talk to everyone around me when given the chance. Given these qualities, I decided to join PLD Lamplighter as an article producer. Even though this is my first year, I hope to help contribute to Dunbar through Lamplighter in any means possible.

Other than writing, I take interest in sports and music. I originally started playing soccer and violin at the same time when I was nine years old. I still participate in both of those outside activities to this day, but I also recently started taking part in tennis. Although I’m not very good at it, tennis has been really enjoyable for me and if questioned I would most definitely recommend the sport to anyone interested. 

Finally, whenever I’m not writing, playing music, or participating in sports I love to hang out with close friends. This might mean going shopping, grabbing lunch, swimming, or just hanging out at someone’s house. Either way, I appreciate the friend’s I’m fortunate enough to have.
