Alex Staykov, Chief of Photography

Hi! I'm Alexander, a staff member going into his second year of PLD Lamplighter. I've been doing photography since the age of 7, mostly documenting my family's numerous trips around the contiguous United States. I enjoy trying to create a picture that is memorable and vivid by getting close to my subjects and using creative angles. At PLD Lamplighter, I've been working on translating my photography skill into good video segments. It's been a challenge for sure, and I'm still figuring some things out, but I eventually hope to produce work that I'm proud of having my name attached to.

On another note, I love cooking and I like to make dinner if I have the time. Some of my favorite foods (as of writing this) are lasagna, salmon sushi, and lemon chicken. I also spend a lot of time outside, usually playing basketball with some friends or going on a run with my dog.

Some of my favorite artists are Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Def Leppard, and Frank Ocean. I love listening to music, and although I might be picky about a genre when I first hear it, I'll tend to warm up to it.
