“It’s a club where you learn about other cultures,” co-sponsor Ms. Michelle Williams said. “We meet once a month, and we usually have a game, a craft… and we often get to eat the food. The best thing about it is that you meet people who are interested in learning about the rest of the world.”
Many members of the club are from different backgrounds so students enjoy learning about each other’s cultures and nationalities.
The DCS club is that they hold the Dunbar Culture Fair every year in March. It is a two-day festival with dance, costumes, and different foods.
“We a lot of times have a dance in the hallways or a game like we play this one Latin American version of sorta like cornhole…” Williams said. She said that students can also make crafts to take home.
The DCS club is an asset to Dunbar because not only does it give and allow the chance students to have fun in a club, with dancing, playing games, and making crafts, but it also gives the students a chance to truly express themselves in a way that helps others learn.
