How to Make Coffee With a Keurig

Dunbar Coffee Shop: Coming Soon to the PLD Library

Step 1: Make sure the Keurig is on and check to see if water needs to be added.

Step 2: Choose your K-Cup. There are over 200 options- whether you fancy a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate; there is something for everyone.

Step 3: Open the silver handle at the top of the machine; there is a place to insert your K-Cup underneath the silver-handled top.

Step 4: Place the K-Cup of your choice in this spot; make sure the side that is labeled is facing up. Next, close the top of the machine. You should hear a pop as the foil lid is punctured as you are closing the top.

Step 5: Place your mug or cup on the platform directly below where you put your K-Cup and choose how much you want in your cup by selecting a size on the control panel.  The Keurig is capable of preparing a 6 oz., 8 oz. or 10 oz. cup.

Step 6: The machine will make a quiet humming sound, followed by the high-pitched whirring as the drink begins to brew. When the machine starts to make a low rumbling sound, the flow of the liquid will slow to a stop and the drink will be ready. After your drink is finished, be sure to open the top where you placed your original K-Cup and dispose of it so it is ready for the next person to use.
