Homecoming weekend is open to everyone.
A ticket to the dance costs $30, admission for the spooky 5kurry costs $25, and the senior tailgate costs $15. But if you plan on going to multiple events, a weekend pass might be a better option. At $55 it includes admission to everything.
The homecoming dance takes place on Sept. 23 from 8-11 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Student Council Vice President Christian Lin encourages students, especially underclassmen, to attend as many events as they can.
“It’s a great experience to get to hang out with your friends and dress up really nicely and just be a part of the school spirit that is the bulldogs of Dunbar,” he said.
Homecoming weekend has many other events aside from the dance. One of them is the spooky 5kurry, a family-friendly race open to the community to raise money for Dance Blue. It is a 5k held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Dunbar.
Sophomore Ellie Cox said, “We are gonna have costume contests, they’ll be popsicles, you know, you walk, you run–it’s just a lot of fun.”
At the Spooky 5kurry, there will be a costume contest for students to compete in one of the multiple categories to win prizes.
The Senior Tailgate will be held on Sept. 22nd from 5-7 p.m. before the football game.
Even though it is called “Senior Tailgate” it is open to everyone.
“There’s a cookout and all of that fun stuff and a paint war,” senior Miranda Ma said.
