Music is one of my most favorite things, and I associate different songs with my different emotions, so I pick different songs to make playlists. My current playlist is called “Good Taste.” Here are the songs:

Relavator Eyes by The Paper Kites.

The Paper Kites have been one of my favorite bands for a long time. I love their different voices in each song. This song is sung by one of the male singers, and his voice is amazing. The music video that goes along with this video amazes me. In the video, the two characters go to a “Jam Bar”, where they sit at a turntable and listen to a vinyl that plays this song. I love the relationship that the singer has and creates with this song.

Sunflower by Rex Orange County

This song has recently become a popular song and I can completely understand why. I love how the beginning of this song starts off with static as if it’s being played from an old turntable. I love songs like this that have an older aesthetic vibe to it. This song brings together the older music style with the modern style. It’s a great upbeat song that I listen to all of the time.

Waves (Tame Impala Remix) by Miguel

This song has a “good vibes” feel to it. It reminds me of summer and the beach. It’s upbeat and it’s kind of a theme song to play when I am riding the waves at the beach.

bury a friend by Billie Eilish

I love Billie Eilish. She is a young artist who is the same age as me. Her music inspires me to try my hardest even at a young age. Her music has a soft aesthetic vibe that I like a lot. It’s a chill song that I feel fits perfectly in my sprint playlist.

Sober by Childish Gambino

This song also has a good vibe to it. Childish Gambino makes a lot of great songs. He can hit high notes that make his songs a different style than the normal “sound” that most artist use.  This song is a great song to vibe to.

Boys Will Be Bugs by Cavetown

I first heard this song and thought it was very cute. It reminds me of my childhood. The boy singing it sings about him being a 14-year-old boy and how he takes everything seriously. It reminds me of how I took things seriously and how the world is much bigger than my 14-year-old self realized. It also has a great sound to it.

Can I Call You Tonight? by Dayglow

This song reminds me of the 60s and 70s. I am obsessed with that time period so any song that is inspired by that period grabs my attention. I love the way the music sounds along with the singer’s voice. It’s a great song and one of my favorites.

Nevermind by Dennis Lloyd

This song has a mellow tone to it. My brother introduced me to this song and ever since it has been on repeat. It’s a calming song, I feel is good for every situation. It’s happy but can also be sad. It’s good for every mood.

Affection by BETWEEN FRIENDS

This is a top favorite of me because it is relatable to the relationships I have been in or experienced second hand. I feel as if everyone goes through the same phase when it comes to relationships and this song hits that phrase. The music is very mellow and has an amazing beat to it. I like this song a lot.

Buttercup by Jack Stauber

This song is by one of my most favorite artists. He makes short animation videos on Instagram that I love. This song’s lyrics don’t have a specific meaning behind them, it’s the tune that is upbeat and makes me feel happy inside. It’s a great song to dance to.

wish you were gay by Billie Eilish

I love this song because of the way Billie incorporated counting numbers into the song. It’s about relationships and how one, in particular, didn’t work out the way she wanted it to. It is such an interesting and chill song.

Sweet Talk by Saint Motel

I saw this band live in 2017. Ever since they have been a favorite of mine. This song is very energetic and exciting. It’s about a relationship but the vibe of the song would leave you to believe it’s a happy relationship. I like listening to this song for any occasion. It’s a song that really helps to get me out of a sad mood.

Amber by 311

This is another top favorite song of mine. It has a great feel to it. It’s mellow and kind of upbeat song that just has a great vibe to it. It is an aesthetic rock song that is just fun to listen to any time of the day. I listen to this song nonstop on repeat because I enjoy it so much. Nick Hexum, the lead singer, has a voice that flows so well with the music. The entire song creates a whole different mood.

I Haven’t Been True by The Walters

The Walters is a great band that produces great music. The lead singer has a different type of voice that most singers don’t possess. This song is about his relationship with a girl and how it’s hard to love her. The song has a chill and simple vibe that is just a great song to listen to.  This song is a relatable teen song that has kind of a 70s feel to it.

When You Were Made by The Growlers

The singer for this song has a raspy voice, which I love. He sings about the love of two parents and how they don’t love each other anymore. This sound of the guitar and the drums go so well together it brings the entire song together.

 Island In the Sun by Weezer

This is such a throwback song. I loved this song in the movie Aquamarine and I still love it to this day. This song has great background music and the vibe of this whole song is uplifting and it makes me want to dance every time I hear it. This song is such a great song and like the rest of the songs in my playlist, it expresses the “aesthetic” of my life.
