Washington v. Ohio State

On Jan. 1 the 6 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes topped the 9 ranked Washington Huskies 28-23 in the 105 Rose Bowl game, the “Granddaddy of them all”. This was also the Final Game for legendary coach Urban Meyer. It was his 17 season of being a head coach and his 7 seasons coaching for Ohio State. His overall record ended up being 187-32, tied third-most all-time for the highest win percentage of coaches who have worked for 10 or more seasons. 2 great quarterbacks went head to head in this game. #7 Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State went 25/37 passing for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns and #3 Jake Browning of Washington passed for 313 yards while going 35/54 and actually punted the ball for 34 yards in the second quarter. Rushing leaders were #9 Myles Gaskin of Washington who carried the ball 24 times for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. #5 Mike Weber was the rushing leader for the Buckeyes with 15 carries for 96 yards. The Huskies’ #5 Andre Baccelia with 12 receptions for 109 yards, while #21 Parris Campbell of Ohio State had 11 receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. The Defensive Leaders for this game were #25 Ben Burr-Kirven for Washington with 9 solo and 2 assisted tackles and Ohio State’s #4 Jordan Fuller with 8 solo and 1 assisted tackles.
