Marshall v. South Florida

On Dec. 20, the Marshall Thundering Herd faced the South Florida Bulls in Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. Marshall ended up winning the bowl 38-20. Marshall’s quarterback Isaiah Green threw 221 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Herd’s to a bowl victory. Keion Davis on 14 carries ran 94 yards and was awarded with 2 touchdown runs. Green was on point this game, 17 completions on 25 attempts, passing to his leading receiver Tyre Brady, who caught 5 passes for 88 yards. Blake Barnett for the Bulls struggled in this game, throwing 23 passes and only connecting on 11 of them. Starting running back Johnny Ford ran 50 yards on 11 carries. Star receiver Randall St. Felix had 11 receptions for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was a very clean game, no turnovers occurred. Defensive stars in this game were Greg Reaves for South Florida, having himself a game with 13 solo tackles and 14 in total. Everybody on Marshall’s defensive recorded a tackle, Frankie Hernandez had 8 total tackles to lead them.
